This past week I have been at a conference in ABu Dhabi discussing the future issues of human resources for the nuclear power industry. The location was the media centre at theYas Island GP circuit outside Abu Dhabi. The circuit as incredible and the media centre no less so. Quite a change from the usual hotel venue for these sorts of meetings.
The flight out was the Austrian one direct to Dubai . Although I was unable to use an upgrade voucher that Lufthansa had sent me I was able to use points te get a Business Class seat which was OK although the plane sare still old Boeing 767 300 series. The Dubai airport was vast but pretty efficient and then I had a 90 minute taxi ride to Abu Dhabi. Sadly the drive was all at night so there was little to see apart from a light sea fog and the fantastic roads - and heaps of traffic. But I did see that world's tallest building from the plane and the Dubai tower from the road.
